Well travelled and not done yet!

Home sweet home!

We have lived in a number of countries and have moved back home to Ireland. We were lucky to be able to build our home in Ballyvaughan. This is where we are from and where we love. We built everything ourselves from scratch and managed to install a cedar hot tub and sauna set into a ruin in the hazel woods, where we have spent many a night with family and friends laughing and drinking lots of wine! It is particularly magical in the rain. We think it is a special place to live and think you will too!

We live onsite, but once you arrive we leave you to yourselves unless you need us. We are happy to provide any advice on the area, offer suggestions for restaurants and even share local secrets as to where to get the best seafood to cook for your supper! We can arrange bookings, contact local tour operators or arrange special items (birthday cakes, anniversary treats etc.) on request.

Wood Smoke Eco Ethos

We are lucky to live in a very unique area in the world. With that in mind, we are trying our very best to respect the area in which we live. We have solar panels that help provide hot water supply, rain-water recycling (you will be using rainwater entirely during your stay with us), food digester bins, compost bins, peat filtration sewage system, wood-fired stoves and eco-friendly cleaning materials.

Local Attractions

Please check the hallway table in the cottage when you arrive for brochures etc., but in the meantime if you want to search the internet before your trip, we would recommend looking up the following sites to get a feel for what you might plan to do in the area. The notice board in the village Spar supermarket also lists everything that is happening in the area, it is worth a stop by to check it out.
