Wood Smoke Cottage is nestled in hazel woods just 3km from the village of Ballyvaughan. Our cottage offers peace, quiet and country living, for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Bright, light, warm and cosy, our cottage comes complete with a wood fired stove and access to an outdoor hot tub and sauna. It really is a hidden little getaway for relaxing with friends!

We also have an independent luxury suite in our own home, which can provide an additional bedroom/bathroom if required. Discounts are available on this suite if booked in conjunction with the cottage.

Our cottage is on the edge of the Burren National Park with direct access to the mountains from the driveway of the house. The Burren is considered to be Ireland’s flagship heritage landscape, from flora to fauna, geology to archaeology, agriculture to community.

Wood Smoke Eco Ethos

We are lucky to live in a very unique area in the world. With that in mind, we are trying our very best to respect the area in which we live. We have solar panels that help provide hot water supply, rain-water recycling (you will be using rainwater entirely during your stay with us), food digester bins, compost bins, peat filtration sewage system, wood-fired stoves and eco-friendly cleaning materials.

Please check the hallway table in the cottage when you arrive for brochures etc., but in the meantime if you want to search the internet before your trip, we would recommend looking up the following sites to get a feel for what you might plan to do in the area. The notice board in the village Spar supermarket also lists everything that is happening in the area, it is worth a stop by to check it out.
